WORKERS SEMINAR HELD ON MONDAY, 27TH OF DECEMBER 2021, AT VICTORYLAND APOSTOLIC CHAPEL (General Headquarters). 19, AWOLOWO WAY, OKESUNA OTA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA.

Theme: Role of Workers In Church Growth & Development.

Text: 1Tim.4:12, 1Cor.3:1-15, 12:3-6,  2Tim.2:1-22, 2Kings6:1-6.

1. WHO IS A WORKER IN GOD'S KINGDOM (THE CHURCH) ?
If you do not know or are not  sure who a worker is, you may not understand your proper place or role in God's kingdom. Just as a company without a formidable workforce remains dormant and underproduced, so is a church without active workers. Tell me a Church without active workers and I will tell you a church without strength, without foresight and without future. Such a church is like a vehicle engine without chassis.

Who Is A Worker?
A worker is one chosen by grace to render certain services unto God for the advancemen of His kingdom, under the leadership of a pastor or leader. 1Cor.15:10, Heb.5:4, Ephe 2:5-8. He is a solder in God's army batallion. 2Tim.2:1-3.

There are diversities of work/workers in the church, namely: Ushers, Choristers / Choir / Singers, Maintenance, Teachers, Welfare, etc. No one is too young to be a worker in their own respect provided they are of the age of accountability, who can differentiate between right and wrong. Joash or Jehoash was the youngest leader that ever ruled; he became king in Jerusalem, at the age of seven (7) years (2Kings12:1-2, 2Chron.24:1). Another one was Josiah, who became king at the age of eight (8) years (2Kings22:1, 12 ).

As workers, we are sowing in God's kingdom towards the growth and development of the church. Workers are on the pay-slip of God  and Christ being the Head of the church, is our paymaster. Gal.6:6-10, 1Cor.3:8, 2Tim.2:6, Col.1:18, Ephe.1:22-23. Workers are Ambassadors for Christ and His church. Ephe.6:20, 2Cor.5:17-20. Also, workers are leaders-in-constant-training. If you are not trained as a worker, tó be a good follower, you cannot be a good leader. 2Tim.1-2,15.

QUALITIES OF A GOOD OR AN IDEAL WORKER.
Study the following Bible passages and list out the qualities of a good worker:

(a) 1Tim.4:12-13, John9:4, Luke 2:41-52.
*Charity and godly love
*Purity of heart and intention
*They reflect godliness in their conversation and whatever they do.
*They are Committed
*They are disciplined and obedient, as a test of being true workers. Heb.12:1-11

(b) 2Pet.1:5,10, 2Cor. 8:7, Rom.12:8, Prov.4:23, Heb.6:11-12
*They are Diligent
*They have Godly Virtues
*They have Temperance and Self-control.
*They are fruitful and productive

(c) 2Tim.2:1-15, Acts 6:1-5, 1Tim.4:13
* They are Honest & Faithful
*They are people of good report.
*They are full of Holy Ghost, Faith and wisdom.
*They are meek
*They are learned in the things of God
*They are teachable
* They are readers.

WORKERS AS AGENTS OF GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT
1Cor.3:1-15, 2Kings6:1-6, Exod.17:8-13, Acts 6:1-6
GROWTH is all about physical increase in size, number strength and value. DEVELOPMENT is the quality of  membership (the church), which is visible to the environment. Growth is to get bigger in size and number whereas development is improvement and progress in every area of the church, as it contributes positively to the overall life of the church, her members and the environment.

From our knowledge about who a worker is and their qualities, we can see clearly that workers in God's kingdom are agents of growth and development. We are called to work in His vineyard. If we do it faithfully and diligently, God releases the unction for quality increase (growth and development) upon the church. Just do your part faithfully and increase will come. 1Cor.3:6-10. However, it is God's church and so we have nothing to boast of, as workers; we are called by grace and that grace is of God. 1Cor.15:10, Ephe 2:9, Rom 3:27, 11:18.

Whatever work you do in His vineyard, just do it "as unto the LORD", as one who will receive reward from Him. Col.3:23, Ephe 6:6, 1Cor.3:1-13. Whatever work we do, the ultimate aim is to bring souls into His kingdom for expansion (growth and development. Matt.12:30, 2Tim.2:10 ). The unity of the workers with their leader (or pastor), fosters growth and development. The following Bible instances picturize how workers stand as agents of growth and development:
1. Effective Evangelism and Follow-up: Evangelism without proper follow-up is like catching fishes and throwing them back into the river; it is ineffective to cause growth and development. As it was in the case of the Apostles of old after their Holy Ghost Baptism, Effective Evangelism and Follow-up, when prayerfully and tactically done, bring about supernatural growth and development. Acts 2:38-47.

2. Living an Exemplary Christian Lifestyle That Demonstrates The Love of Christ Towards All Men: This can attract unbelievers to Christ. They "read" us and understand the love of Christ better and thereby get attracted to Him. 2Cor.3:2, Acts 2:38-47.

3. Workers Form a Strong Force / Prayer house against satanic activities, for the advancement of the church. 2Tim.2:3-5, Nehem 4:7-12, Ephe 6:10-20.

4. They are Initiators For Growth and Development: Under the leadership of their pastor or leader, workers initiate growth and development in different dimensions. They bring laudable suggestions and contributions, they initiate projects and motivate church members, like the sons of the prophet. They teach members to learn commitment and sacrificial giving. 2Kings6:1-6, Acts 2:38-45, 4:32-37.

5. They are Helping Hands To Their Pastor in different areas and teach members same through the good examples portrayed by them. 2Kings 6:1-6, Matt.12:30.

6. They portray good virtues and characters in the eye of the entire membership of the church, as good example to them. 2Cor.3:2, 1Tim.4:12-13.

7. They Encourage and Strengthen Their Leader, in Word, in Obedience, in Unity, in Prayer, in Giving, ... This is symbolized by holding Moses' hands up during the war with Amalek. Exod.17:8-13.

*Final Note: God is not looking for "multitudes to work for Him. He is looking for"few" available ones, who are ready to be committed to Him. If we refuse to work for Him, He can replace us with "Stones", people we least expect, who have been far away from the grace. When the children of Israel were going for war, the instruction given to Gideon in this wise was to select the best "few" who were fit and ready. Judges 7:1- 12, Matt.22:14.

PROPHETIC PRAYER FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER [Starting, Monday, 1st of November, 2021].

PRAYER THEME: “I AM  THAT  I AM”

THEME: Exod.3:7-14, Jer.32:17, 27, Matt.28:18-20.

Glory and honour to God Almighty Who, hitherto has continued to support us on every side with supernatural victories and undeniable testimonies that cannot be overemphasized. Since the very first day of this year, our God has been good and faithful to His promise. He has continued to restore everything that concerns us to the glory of His majesty. Not without any challenges since the beginning of the year, but God has saved us from them all (Psalm 34:19-20). Praise ye the LORD!    Alleluiyah !

This month, in line with God’s intention to restore His people, He has directed us, by His Spirit, to invoke His power and supremacy in prayer. If we do this faithfully in the new month of November, He will manifest His greatness over every challenging situation in our lives. He did it for the Isrealites in their challenges when they were labouring under Pharaoh and the Egyptian bondage. The “I AM” is the all-powerful, the all-knowing, the same yesterday, today and forever, the all-in-all. He is the Deliverer, the Healer, our compassionate and loving God, the only One and no other. He brings healings, deliverance and wonderful blessings to His people as they call on Him in spirit and in truth.

As we pray together in unity of faith this month, the Almighty God will visit us in a miraculous way in Jesus’ name.

Remember, with Jesus Christ, victory is sure.

Shalom !

PROPHETIC PRAYER FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER [Starting, Wednesday, 1st of September, 2021]

PRAYER THEME: GRACE FOR RESTORATION

Text: Joel 2:17-32, Ephes.2:1-16, 1Pet.2:8-10, Psalm126:1-6, Jn11:30-40.

Praise ye that LORD! Alleluiyah! Looking back and counting our blessings since the beginning of this year, the testimonies, the deliverance and victories in all situations, we cannot but give glory to our heavenly Father for His goodness and mercy that endureth forever – Psalm136:1-26. We have passed through challenging situations and the Lord has been good to us all the way. Indeed, “many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him from them all”- Psalms34:19.

It is not in vain that God has promised to be with us in every situation to give us victory in His own way. It is not in vain that He has said to us to “fear not” (Exodus 14:13-14, John 14:27). And it is not in vain that He has told us that this year shall be our Year of Restoration. Our God cannot lie. He can never fail in every dimension of His Word. He has continued to assure us that even when we pass through the waters, He shall always be with us and the rivers of turbulence shall not drown us. He assures us that when we pass through the fire of challenges, we shall not be burnt (Isaiah 43:1-2). And we know that His words are “ye and in Him, AMEN” – 2Corinth.1:20. We are indeed grateful that in all these things, we are more than conquerors by His grace. Thanks be to God Who causes us to triumph in all situations, through Christ Jesus.

In line with the prophetic theme given to us this year, the Spirit of God has instructed us to pray with the theme: GRACE FOR RESTORATION. As we pray together in unity of spirit and faith this month, the Almighty God of Restoration shall restore all that pertain to us in every ramification, in Jesus’ name.

PROPHETIC PRAYER FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST (Starting, Sunday 1st of August) 2021

THEME: “…AND I WILL SAVE THY CHILDREN”

Text: Isa.49:24-26, Isa.61:10, Luke2:40-52,  Palm103: 1-5, 2Cor.5:17

As always, God's prophetic declaration to us this month is the re-echoing of His unfailing promise to fight for our children and save them from every manipulation of the enemy. And we know that His Words and promises are "yea and in Him, AMEN unto the glory of God..." - 2Cor.1:20. However, this prayer is not restricted to our children alone; it concerns all of us, in one way or the other. The salvation of the LORD in all dimensions is sure for us as we key into this declaration, in Jesus' name.

(a) Praise God for His salvation-  Psa.103:1-4, 5,  Isa.61:10.

The prophecy from God to us this year concerning our children says “ And I will save your children”-Isa.49:25. First, we have to praise God with thanksgiving and appreciation in our hearts, for His goodness and mercy that endures forever in our lives, in the lives of our children and our entire family. Glory to God Who always says  “I will greatly rejoice in the lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, He hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.”

If God would mark iniquity, who can stand?  Psa.130:3. And if God had permitted the devil over our lives, where would we have been? Psa.124:1-8. We have simply found grace in God's sight; He has clothed us with the garment of salvation and His robe of righteousness is upon us. isa.61:10. while we were sinners, Christ died to saved us; we were justified. as though we never sinned. not only that; He also gives us access to His unlimited reservoir of diverse benefits. That's why we have to rejoice before Him, giving glory and honour to His holy name. The Psalmist appreciated this truth when he recounted the goodness of God in Psa.103:1-5 “bless the lord o my soul and all that is within me, bless his holy name…who forgiveth all thine iniquities and healeth all thy diseases…who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies…” we have to show forth the praises of him who delivered us from darkness into his marvelous light. 1pet.2:9.

Our salvation in God, through the attorney blood of Jesus christ, is the greatest gift to mankind. a man's salvation is an open-door/access to the unlimited reserve in god's kingdom. it is a sure passport to enter into the supernatural. 2cor.5:17 says "if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature, old things. Man's salvation is an insurance against every satanic agenda in his life. Your salvation is your eternal security in God.

(b) “…And I will save thy children”-  Isaiah 49:25.

What does the word salvation (or to save) mean?

In Hebrew tongue, the word (y-sh-ah, meaning salvation) simply means, “to save or to rescue.” moses and the Israelites experienced this at the red sea. (exod.14:1-31, 15:1-5). y-sh-ah for the Lord your God is He that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you. (Deuteronomy 20:4).

In the Greek Language, the same word salvation is written as soteria, soter, or sozo- all meaning “to save from all kinds of peril in life”. this Greek translation means, to deliver, to set free, to redeem, to restore, to make whole, to keep whole, to make or keep safe and sound, to make complete, and to heal. it is the very essence of christ’s ‘blood sacrifice’ on the cross for our total deliverance from sin and all its repercussion. (isa.53:5, gal.3:13, 1jn3:8). it is the one paul the apostle spoke about in 2cor.5:17 “if any man be in christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”. to summarize all these, the word salvation simply means saving a soul from sin and from the consequences of sin. it is all-round redemption & deliverance.

So, when God said “…and I will save thy children,” from the Greek translation, it simply means, I will save your children from all kinds of peril in life”. I will deliver your children, I will set your children free, I will redeem your children, I will restore your children, I will make them whole, I will keep them safe and sound, I will perfect and make them complete, and I will heal your children…

We therefore need to key into this grace & pray according to God’s declaration for this hour. receive it for your children, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ ! All these are exemplified in our main text, Isaiah 49:24-26, which says: "shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? But thus saith the Lord, even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children."

"and I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that i the lord am thy savior and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob."

Our main text is digging into the root / foundation of every child. There are cases where a child’s destiny may have been taken captive because of curses in the parental/family lineage; this is how they become “lawful captive”.  The Lord says that even if your child has been lawfully taken captive by such curses or if they have become “a prey” to forces of darkness, he will deliver and will save your children. and I will save thy children."

The Lord says He will contend with those forces that oppress your children’s glory and destiny. The Lord says every flesh eater and blood sucking demon or devil incarnate contracted against your children “shall eat their own flesh and be drunken with their own blood.  The Almighty says He will redeem destinies/glories that have been tampered with; He will surely revive & redeem glories that have been slaughtered on the altars of evil.

*Note: Parents should also add this to their prayer this month,

I Shall Eat The Fruits of My Labour

As we earnestly pray for our children this month and this year, we are also praying for ourselves directly or indirectly, for we are all children of the Most High God- Gal.3:26. And God will save us from every evil scheming and agenda of the enemy, in Jesus' name. His salvation extends to every area of our lives, "...old things pass away and ALL THINGS become new"- 2Cor.5:17. Whether in the work of the Lord or in our secular work/business, the Lord has promised to bless the work of our hands; He has given us the power to eat the fruits of our labour. That power is activated upon our lives right now, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.!

Jeremiah 31:16a says “Refrain your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears; for your work shall be rewarded, says the LORD”. God shall reward your labour. And you will eat the fruits of your labour. Boaz said to Ruth, “The LORD repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge” (Ruth 2:12). God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name (Hebrews 6:10). In our lives and in the lives of our children, God will bless us on earth for our labour and we shall eat the fruits of our labour, but the REAL REWARD is in eternity. You and I will not miss our eternal reward in Jesus’ name.

Paul's letter by the Spirit of God to the Roman church, enjoins  "Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord". Rom.12:11.  As you continue to be diligent in the work of the Lord and in the work of your hands, Power to eat the fruits of your labour, beyond your personal strength, the LORD bestows on you, in Jesus' name.

We shall be combining these portions of the scriptures in our prayers, as parents and parents-to-be:

(i) Deut.28:1-13

1“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. 3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. 4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. 5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store..."

(ii) Isaiah 65:22-24

22 “They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.  23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring [or children] with them.  24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear".

Let us continue in the mood of prayer
