Exhortation

Alleluiyah! For the LORD God Omnipotent reigneth.

All glory, honour and adoration to God Almighty for His mercy endures forever. Thank God it is another month; another season of divine intervention. Indeed, it has been a journey of various challenges in the first half of the year, but thanks be unto God for granting us victory every step of the way. In all we have been passing through, whether as individuals or as a nation, one thing has been our consolation: we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior (Romans 8:37). Amen!.

Last month, under the direction of the Holy Spirit, we prayed for "our Jerusalem" (our nation), that God would intervene in the affairs of our nation. No doubt we have been witnessing the mighty hands of God in different areas; we are confident in the unfailing ability of the Almighty God to put an end to the violence, killings, destruction and bloodshed, bringing evil perpetrators to book. We shall continue to pray in this regard. Let it be reiterated here that, our Monthly Prayer Themes are not time-bound; they are to be prayed cumulatively all through the year to the glory of God.

This month, Our God has directed us to pray for perfection. Our theme this month says: GOD OF PERFECTION (Psalms 138:8). Earlier in Psalms 127:1, the Psalmist has declared by the Spirit of the LORD, "Except the LORD builds the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain". By implication, we are enjoined to be informed that, however fast and hard we try to achieve something in life, nothing will happen unless God perfects our efforts. In other words, nothing substantially good will happen for us unless God makes it happen, be it in your health,  marriage, business or finances. Take for instance, a sick person goes to the hospital, spends fortune to revive their health but still ends up dying in the process. It is not everyone that goes to the hospital comes back healed. This is why we need God's factor of perfection. This was the case of the woman with issue of blood in Luke 8:43-48; Jesus Christ did the perfection when she had an encounter with Him. In like manner, a businessman may spend a lot investing in a business but yet without good returns to show for it. Also, one might have the advantage of being guarded by soldiers for protection and security, yet be attacked by forces of darkness, or other seen and unseen, known and unknown forces. God's perfection makes the difference. Except the LORD perfect our efforts, all will end in vanity. This is why we need to trust and lean on Him for ultimate breakthrough in all we do.

His perfection is the seal of fulfillment translating our efforts into testimonies. The Psalmist had various practical experiences with God in this regard and therefore declared: "The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands" Psalm 138:8. In this verse, he reminded God of His enduring mercy. The perfection that God gives comes through God's mercy, for He will have mercy on whom He would have mercy and compassion on whom He would have compassion; not of him that runneth nor of him that willeth but of God that showeth mercy (Romans 9:15-16).

This month, as we pray with this spirit of faith, God's supremacy of perfection is going to show forth in our prayers and pursuits, translating them into practical testimonies, in Jesus' Name.

Remember, with Jesus Christ on board our journey, Victory is Sure!

Shalom!
