Exhortation

Glory to God in the highest for His loving kindness and faithfulness towards us in every situation. We give thanks to Him for His abiding presence in the journey so far. The testimonies of His unfailing grace upon us cannot be overemphasized. His name alone be glorified forevermore. Amen.

Last month, the Holy Spirit guided us on the prayer theme "GOD OF PERFECTION". This has continued to be our watchword as we set out for God's supernatural intervention in our situation. However smart, strong and brilliant we may be, we surrender our will to His own will for perfection and testimonies to the glory of His name. This, I must say, remains to re-echo in our minds and reinforce our faith towards another dimension of His visitation in the new month.

This.month, as always, the LORD is guiding us by His Spirit on the prayer theme, "LORD, RENEW MY STRENGTH" - Isaiah 40:29-41. The Christian journey is first of all, a heavenward race. It is also a race to attain and profit in all that God has provided for us in Christ Jesus. Those who run the race need to renew their strength always, so as remain on track. It is being on the track of faith, the faith that produces results and lasting testimonies. The main condition to renew our strength in Christ is, waiting on Him in prayers. To do this, we need faith and self-denial, feeding on His word with fasting and prayer.

Abraham waited on the LORD and God renewed his strength to hold on to faith until he got his miracle child, even at old age. He believed in God and it was counted to him for righteousness. -Genesis15:1-6. God renewed His covenant with him. -Genesis 17:1–8, 21:1-7. In all his trials, He was patient with God and didn't waver in faith. -Hebrews 6:13–15, Romans 4:18–21. Patience and faith in God are necessary conditions for renewing our strength while waiting on Him. At different times, Isaac waited on the LORD and God renewed his hope and strength. -Genesis 25:21, 26:1–6, 12.

Hannah prayed, waited earnestly on the LORD for a child and God renewed her hope and strength. In answer to her groanings, God visited her with the covenant child Samuel. -1Samuel 1:26–28, 1Samuel 2:1–10.

Daniel and his friends, Hanania (Shadrach), Mishael (Meshach); and Azariah (Abed-nego), all sought God in prayer and fasting. God renewed their strength and they got supernatural results. -Daniel 2:17-23, 6:10–23, 9:3–23. Jabez cried unto God and God renewed the strength of his glory. -2Chronicles 4:9-10. What about Paul and Silas? They waited on the LORD through prayer and praises; and He delivered them. Thereafter, their strengths were renewed and they continued tirelessly in their gospel crusade. -Acts 16:22–34.

Waiting on God has always been a winning formula over all challenges of life. God can never fail. To renew our strength is the work of the Holy Spirit. Physical strength is highly limited in the realm of the spirit. We have to learn to depend on Him for continual strength and restoration. Hence, the prophetic admonition from Zechariah, "Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts..." - Zecha.4:6-9, 2Corinthians 12:9. Psalm 37:7 says "Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him." and Lamentations 3:25-26 says "The LORD is good unto them that wait for him..."

As we wait patiently on the LORD in faith this month, our strength and our hope shall be renewed, and our testimonies shall know no bounds, in Jesus' Name.

Remember, with Jesus Christ by our side, Victory is Sure!

Shalom!
