EXHORTATION
Praise ye the LORD! Alleluiyah!
It has been a journey so far, a challenging but victorious one indeed. Ten months down the line and God has been there for us. Counting our blessings in the midst of all the happenings around us, and the various issues that constantly challenge our faith, it is pertinent to give thanks to the One who has made all things work together for our good. For all the testimonies and His divine intervention in every situation, God is worthy of our praise and we return all glory and honour to Him alone.
We started last month with our season of uplifting liberty. As children of God, we have been delivered from the world of darkness into His marvelous light. -1Peter 2:9-10. The liberty we now have in Christ places us at a graceful position, not to be dominated in any way but to exercise our dominon over sin, satanic vices and challenges. It is important to stress here that, our monthly prayers are not time-bound; rather, we constantly pray them until something wonderful happens and they translate into testimonies.
This month, we have been enjoined to dwell on the theme: PRAISE FOR GRACE. Praise is the expression of gratitude, honour, worship and admiration offered to God for who He is, for what He has done and what He will do. Anything we do to the glory and honour of God is an expression of His praise. Grace is God's unmerited favour, kindness and divine help towards His children. Grace is the product of God's mercy, released upon His children despite their unworthiness. Paul said "... it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy" (Romans 9:16), Titus 3:5, Ephes. 2:4-5. Grace also consists in exploits beyond personal abilities. That was why Paul said "But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: YET NOT I, BUT THE GRACE OF GOD which was with me (1Corinth.15:10). God dwells in the praises of His people to release abundant grace upon them (Psalms 22:3).
This month, PRAISE FOR GRACE is in this wise: that as we engage in unconditional praise to God Almighty, giving thanks to Him for all things, according to His will, supernatural grace is released upon us for exploits and blessings (1Thessa.5:16-19). The Psalmist emphasized this to a great extent: "Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us" (Psalms 67:5-6).
Noah obtained grace from God because he honoured God by living and doing all things to His glory, even in the midst of the perverse generation of his time (Genesis 6:5-9). Enoch obtained grace to be translated alive without experiencing death, because he honoured God with his lifestyle (Genesis 5:23-24). Abraham obtained grace for fruitfulness at old age due to his absolute faith in God, honour and obedience to Him (Genesis 17:5, 17, 18:17-19, 21:1-7). The virtues demonstrated by these men are an expression of honour and praise to God (1corinthians 10:31, 1Peter 2:9). Jacob obtained grace for unhindered breakthrough in the house of his uncle, Laban. In like manner, Joseph found grace in the sight of God because he honoured God with his lifestyle (Genesis 39:1-6).
Jehoshaphat, with the entire land of Judah, obtained grace for supernatural victory through praise (2Chronicles 20:22-30). Hannah obtained grace for fruitfulness (1Samuel 1:11-20, 2:4-10). Paul and Silas obtained grace, as they praised God unconditionally in the prison; beyond human capacity, without physical keys or other tools but by a great earthquake, the gates of the prison opened of its own accord, to the glory of God Almighty (Acts 16:24-31). Alleluiyah!
In everything, give thanks to God, for this is His perfect will. Praise Him always, just as you pray always. Then the Spirit of God shall step into your situation and your testimonies shall know no bounds. -1Thessa.5:16-19. As we earnestly honour God in all we do, and engage in the instrumentality of praise this month, grace shall speak for us in all ramifications, in Jesus' Name (Amen).
Remember, with Jesus Christ, Victory is Sure!
Shalom!
