Psalm 92:8-10, 11-15,

EXHORTATION

Glory to God Almighty for always causing us to triumph over all situations. It is first half of the year and looking back to all that has been happening since the beginning of this year, we have a reason to praise God and appreciate Him. For His faithfulness, goodness and mercy, we have to give thanks to Him always. For the seen and unseen battles fought on our behalf, we have to give thanks to Him. The Psalmist declares these in his  writings, by the Spirit of God. -Psalms 103:1-5, Psalms 89:1, Psalms 136:1-26.

Last month, the Great Grace of our God was released upon our lives. It is the grace that is beyond our personal strength and abilities; the grace that operates by the Spirit of God for a release of the supernatural. -Zecha.4:4-7, Isaiah 10:27, Mk 6:13, Acts 4:33, 2:41-47. This month, as always, the Almighty has given us a Prophetic direction. He has promised to do A NEW THING (Isaiah 43:18-21. Since this is a direct prophecy from God, then the provision has been made already to launch us into a new dispensation of testimonies. It does not matter whether or not we have struggled for so long without any success or headway, in the dispensation of A NEW THING, your story will change far beyond your expectation, to the glory of Almighty God. Your past failures shall be translated into a resounding success; your losses and disappointments shall be turned into blessings. Your victories and testimonies shall know no bounds, and God alone shall take all the glory, in Jesus' Mighty Name (Isaiah 42:8-9, 43:21).

For this new thing to become a reality in our lives, the Psalmist counsels us to walk uprightly before God, in everything we do (Psalms 84:11). We are to forsake our old ways of lethargy and foot dragging towards the things of God. We are to renew our mind to serve God in spirit and in truth. -Romans 12:1-2, John 4:23. Then thirst and hunger after His righteousness [doing His will] in all our decisions and undertakings]. -Matthew 5:6.

Our watchword re-echoes the sincere intention of the children of Israel to witness a supernatural renewal [a drastic change], as a nation:  "Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old" -Lamentations 5:21.

Whenever Israel went astray from God, He would release them into the hands of their enemies so as to redirect them back to Himself. He sometimes uses the enemy to torture His erring children so as to enforce their penitence. -Joel 2:-25. This is also picturized in the text from which our watchword is taken. The repercussions of their old ways are clearly stated as we consider the following extracts:

Lamentations 5:1-21: "Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.

Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens (Verse 1-2).

"We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.

Our necks are under persecution: we labour, and have no rest" (Verse 4-5)

"Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities.

Servants have ruled over us: there is none that doth deliver us out of their hand" (Verse 7-8).

"Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.

Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.

The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick.

The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.

The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned

(Verses 10, 12, 14-16).

"Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old" (Verse 21).

Our God always desires to open a new chapter of glory in the lives of His children but He wants them to be well positioned and adequately prepared to manage the successes well. He wants them to do the needful. "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and tuwrn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land" -2Chronicles 7:14.

The Holy Spirit speaks expressly to us through Paul the Apostle, in this wise: "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" -2Corinthians 5:17.

The New Thing God has promised has different dimensions: A NEW THING (that is, a new testimony) in  our personal lives, our marriage, our business/work, our career, our health, our family, and so on. However, for us to fully take advantage of the NEW THING the LORD has promised, we must not allow sin and satan to rob us. God's mind is to do a new thing and lead us from glory to glory. He wants our lives to be an expression of His glory. -Isaiah 60:1-3, Isaiah 43:21.

We must not allow iniquity/unrighteousness to dominate our hearts but depend and meditate upon His sure promises. -Psalms 66:19-20, Joshua 1:8, Psalms 1:1-3, 2Corinthians 1:20.

We must walk with God in newness of heart. -Romans 12:1-2, Matthew 5:8.

"Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old." -Isaiah 43:18.

We must not allow our past experiences to dictate our future but rather trust Him for who He is. -Jeremiah 32:17,27, Number 23:19, Hebrews 11:1-2, 6.

What Are The New Things God Will Do?

1. God will make a way for our all-round breakthrough, no matter where we are [in the wilderness, desert, home or abroad] -Isaiah 43:19.

2. He will bring great things out of nothing, even if you have been seen as nothing, like the case of Sarah [Genesis 21:1-7], Hannah [1Samuel 2:1-10], Jabez [1Chronicles 4:9-10], Obededom [2 Samuel 6:1-12], Mephibosheth [2 Samuel 9:1-12], Elizabeth [Luke 1:26-36],

3. He will take you from the wrong place where you are to a new place where you ought to be. He will relocate you to your Promised Land.  -Psalms 40:1-5, Exodus 3:8, 17.

4. He will make impossibilities possible for you -water from the desert and a way in the wilderness. -Isaiah 43:18-20, Jeremiah.      32:17, 27.

God has not only promised  but has also given us a prophetic direction that will usher new testimonies into our lives, to the glory of His exalted name. He alone will take all the glory and honour in our lives, the church and the nation, at large. -Isaiah 43:20-21, 42:8-12.

We should understand that except the LORD grants us the enablement to launch into new achievements and except He lifts us from where we are to the new position we so desire, our struggles becomes vanity. -Psalms 127:1-2. We should trust Him for perfection of all our efforts and pursuits. -Psalms 138:8. No meaningful nor permanent feats can be achieved without Him. -John 3:27.

In the light of God's dealing with the children of Israel, we as individuals, as a people and as a nation, need to constantly search ourselves and amend our ways so that God will hearken to our cry and change our situation for good and to the glory of His name. As we pray together in unity of faith this month, a new wave of glory shall rise upon every area of our lives, the church and the nation as a whole, with undeniable testimonies, in Jesus' Name.

Remember, with Jesus Christ, Victory is Sure!

Shalom!
